Pedagogy
My younger students retain chairs in most of the local school and youth orchestras in Ann Arbor, and receive high marks at MSBOA events. I have offered private lessons, classes, and chamber coaching at Rudolf Steiner, St. Francis of Assisi, Emerson School, the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts, the Clarkston Conservatory of Music, and Point CounterPoint music camp, where I was a violin faculty member for 12 years.
One third of my private studio is comprised of adult students. I work with many adults who have never played a violin before our first lesson, but now find themselves enjoying a fun musical hobby. Most have come back to the violin from their childhood, and are enjoying the fresh perspective. I have taught classes for adults at the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts, and have current and former students in the University of Michigan Life-Science Orchestra. At Point CounterPoint, I was the music director of workshops specifically designed around adult chamber musicians.
I offer weekly violin lessons, chamber music coaching, audition preparation, and technique/theory classes to all ages and performance levels. I sincerely welcome anybody displaying enthusiasm and commitment to understanding the art of the violin.
